How the AI assistant handles your information
Version 1.1 — Effective July 27, 2026
You reached this page from a chat assistant on a business's website. That assistant was built and is operated by GatewayAI, LLC. This page explains our part. For what that specific business collects and how long they keep it, see their own privacy notice — they decide those things, not us.
Our role
The business you were chatting with decides what the assistant collects and why. We provide the software and route the AI requests on their behalf. In legal terms, they are the controller or business and we are their processor or service provider. We do not use anything from your conversation for our own purposes.
What happens to your conversation
Your messages travel through our systems to reach an AI model, which generates the reply. After your conversation goes idle, the transcript is sent to that model once more so it can be summarised and sorted for the business.
We do not store the content of your conversation. It is saved in a database belonging to the business you contacted, not to us. We record only counts and measurements — how many messages, how large, how long they took, what they cost — which is how the business is billed.
Who processes it
- Anthropic (United States) — generates the assistant's replies and classifies conversations after they end. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. They keep it for about thirty days and may look at it during that time for safety and security reasons, then delete it.
- Turso (Oregon, United States) — hosts the database where the business stores your conversation. Each business has its own; they are never combined.
- Google Cloud (Oregon, United States) — runs the website and our gateway.
- Resend (United States) — delivers email, if the business emails you a reply.
We use no analytics, advertising networks, error trackers, or session replay tools. Nothing about you is sold or shared for advertising by us.
Your browser
The assistant uses your browser's per-tab session storage to keep the conversation open across page loads — the transcript, whether the panel is open, two conversation identifiers, a cached eligibility check, and whether you have dismissed the AI notice. All of it is discarded when you close the tab. We set no cookies, no persistent identifier, and no fingerprint.
The website itself may embed other things — a map, for example — which are the business's choices and covered by their notice.
Our access to the business's systems
We keep administrative access to the sites we build so we can fix problems. This means our staff are able to read the conversations and enquiries stored there. We tell you this rather than imply otherwise. We do not currently keep an audit record attributing that access to an individual, and we don't claim to.
Making a request
We can't act on a request about your information, because we don't control it — the business does. Contact them.
If you can't reach them or don't know who to ask, email us at privacy@gatewayai.tech and we'll pass your request along and help them find the records.
Changes
If we update this page, the version and date at the top will change. Prior versions are available on request.
